Messages from the Crew
So
far, launch of this site has been well received. Here are a
few of the messages that were sent to me in the first few hours
after "commissioning ceremonies".
Dude, Great Idea.
I've got a fairly good selection of pictures. I'm in the process
of scanning them. I'll send them to you. But, be patient. I
don't get much time from my working schedule. I would appreciate
if you could keep me updated on your progress.

Roger, I commissioned the USS SCOTT (DDG 995)
as a 2nd class, made Chief and then transferred in 1985. I will
look for some pictures to send you!

I served on the "Hot Shots" USS Scott
from Mar 1985 till Sept 1985. I was headed for retirement and
she was headed for the Suez Canal and duty in Indian Ocean..

Thanks for the e-mail. It looks like it will
be a great site when you get it done. So are you still in the
Navy? I am a Chief Master-at-Arms teaching MA school down here
in sunny South Texas. You were on the ship while I was. I was
a signalman back then but I do remember you. It is good to hear
from you.
Keep in touch,

About time someone got around to this. Unfortunately
I'm currently on deployment and won't be back stateside until
the end of Dec. If the site is still around I will dig up
my collection (about 15 rolls from the 90 cruise) and start
scanning them in and send them out.
Man there were a lot of good memories on
that boat, to bad things have changed so much since then.
Anyway I'll keep an eye on the site and see if I can dig up
any old crewmembers that may still be around.

Hey Punch, how ya doing man? I guess you don't
remember me. I remember you. Steve (Gmm3 Gardner) used to be
buddies with you on the Ship. Steve and I were good friends
as well. I have not heard from him in years though. Anyway its
good to hear from you. I don't know if you remember Womack. He
was in deck with me as well. I am in contact with him. He has
told me several stories of occurrences that happened after I
left Scott.
Holla back,
Tyrone aka BM2 Washington
